Rower FTMS Data Field is a high-performance Garmin Connect IQ data field for indoor rowing. It runs inside your native Garmin Rowing or Row Indoor activity, connecting via Bluetooth (BLE) to standard FTMS rowing machines and smartphone broadcasters. Display live telemetry with adaptive layouts and record Firstbeat and Connect IQ developer metrics into your Garmin Connect summary. KEY HIGHLIGHTS - Adaptive Layouts: * Full-Screen Cockpit: Hero Split Pace (/500m), real-time Power Gauge, instant & avg Watts, Stroke Rate (SPM), total Distance, and Stroke Count with a live Bluetooth pill. * Full-Screen Hero: Giant primary metric with a 3-metric secondary strip. * Shared Multi-Field Mode: Clean high-visibility value, units, and discrete Bluetooth status dot for 2, 3, 4, or 6-field screens. - Zero Lag & Memory Safe: Under 40 KB heap and zero memory allocations during rendering for rock-solid stability on AMOLED and MIP displays. - True Garmin FIT Integration: Feeds Firstbeat algorithms with native Power, Cadence, Distance, and Speed, plus developer charts in Garmin Connect for /500m Pace, Force (N), Work (J), and Technique Score (/10). - Concept2® Fluid Physics: Cubic physics cross-derivation keeps pace and watts synchronized even if your machine broadcasts only one metric. WATERROWER®, SMARTROW® & EXR® SETUP GUIDE Option 1: WaterRower® ComModule (Direct FTMS) 1. Turn on your WaterRower® S4 monitor and Bluetooth ComModule. 2. Start the native Rowing or Row Indoor activity on your Garmin watch. 3. The data field automatically pairs with the ComModule (status turns green). 4. Press START on your watch to begin recording. Option 2: SmartRow® with EXR Broadcast If using SmartRow® with the EXR virtual app on PC, Mac, tablet, or Apple TV: 1. Connect your SmartRow® pulley to EXR. 2. In EXR settings, enable "Bluetooth FTMS Rebroadcast" (or "Broadcast to Watch"). 3. Start your Garmin Rowing activity; the field displays "FTMS * SCANNING". 4. The field automatically pairs with the live EXR FTMS stream. 5. Once the indicator turns green with your broadcaster name, press START to row. HOW TO ADD THE DATA FIELD 1. Select your native "Row Indoor" or "Rowing" activity. 2. Long-press MENU (or UP), then select "Activity Settings" - "Data Screens". 3. Choose a layout (1 field for full cockpit, or 2 to 4 fields). 4. Edit the field, select "Connect IQ Fields", then "Rower FTMS Data Field". 5. In Garmin Connect Mobile settings, customize your primary metric and device filter.
