SpeedZone - Speed limits alongside your activity Add SpeedZone as a data field to a compatible Garmin activity screen. It shows your current speed and the available speed limit in km/h, with a symbol indicating how certain the map information is. ROAD DATA AND COVERAGE Dedicated server-side OpenStreetMap road indexes cover Hungary, Lithuania, Germany and Switzerland. Lithuanian seasonal limits are handled where the road data and supported rules allow it. When local evidence is missing, the server can try an online OpenStreetMap lookup, including in other countries, and reuse suitable cached results. Coverage and online availability vary; not every road has a usable limit. READING THE LIMIT =50: a specific numeric value in the map data, not a road sign checked on site. ?50: a probable value from supported rules or less-certain evidence. ~50: an estimated value. !: conflicting or unresolved information; no numeric limit is shown. --: no usable limit or road match is available. The symbols remain meaningful on monochrome displays. FULL VERSION - Road names or route references where available. - Optional overspeed vibration and red text only when the current road match and fresh mapped sign evidence qualify for an alert. Probable and estimated values do not trigger these alerts. Device support also matters. - Your speed as a percentage of the limit when that value qualifies for alerts. The basic trial shows the available limit and your current speed, but not road labels or premium overspeed alerts. The cache/download indicator is also available in the trial. UPDATES WHILE MOVING On devices with sufficient memory, small nearby-road packets let the data field follow the matched road between server updates. Version 3.0.1 improves continuity on long, straight sections and in denser road networks, using direction-aware areas and earlier refreshes. Brief GPS drift is tolerated conservatively; a turn, conflicting road or expired data can still leave no reliable match. Lower-memory devices use compact point lookups instead. The filled circle grows from the centre of the data field as the downloaded area's usable distance or lifetime is consumed. During a request it is shown at full size within that field. Each field has its own indicator, including screens with several data fields. It is not a road-sign or speed-zone boundary. Valid road labels remain visible during background refreshes where possible. SETUP AND CONNECTION Edge 850 is supported. Its shortest data fields use two lines, with the limit and current speed side by side and the road name or status below. Enable GPS, add SpeedZone to your activity screen and keep the device connected to the internet, normally through Garmin Connect on your paired phone. The country indexes live on the server, not on the watch; short-lived caching is not full offline country-map support. For full access, enter your Donor ID in the data-field settings. Settings changes apply during the activity once delivered to the watch; no routine restart is required. The old fixed zone-edge distance setting does not control the redesigned indicator. IMPORTANT Use the road signs and applicable rules as your authority. GPS errors, missing map data, conditional restrictions and nearby roads can affect the result. This is not navigation or a guarantee of the legal limit. The display is not tailored to every vehicle category. SUBSCRIPTION AND SUPPORT SpeedZone is part of the unified FeliXGear subscription. If a road is missing, please include your Garmin model, app version and road name or route number. Novedades

v3.0.2 - Edge 850 support - Added Edge 850 compatibility. - Compact Edge 850 fields show the limit and current speed side by side, with the road name or status below, keeping the text inside the field. - Larger Edge 850 fields retain three rows. v3.0.1 - Improved road continuity and a clearer cache indicator - Improved road following on long, straight sections and in denser road networks, on devices with sufficient memory. - Direction-aware nearby-road packets, earlier refreshes and longer short-lived caching help reduce gaps between server updates. - Restored the filled cache/download circle inside each data field. It grows from the field centre, including when several fields share the screen, instead of using a thin screen-edge arc. - Valid road information can remain visible during background refreshes. Brief GPS drift is handled conservatively; turns, conflicting roads, lower limits and expired data are not hidden. - Lower-memory devices retain compact point lookups and the cache/download indicator. - Existing certainty symbols, four-country server indexes, online fallback and conservative overspeed-alert rules remain available. Road coverage is not complete. A missing or ambiguous match can still show -- or !. Always follow road signs and applicable rules. v3.0.0 - Redesigned road-data handling - Dedicated server-side road indexes for Hungary, Lithuania, Germany and Switzerland, including supported Lithuanian seasonal limits. - Online OpenStreetMap fallback and reusable server-side caching when local evidence is missing; coverage and availability still vary. - New certainty symbols: = specific mapped value, ? probable, ~ estimated, ! conflicting/unresolved, -- unavailable. No colour display is needed to tell them apart. - Road names and route references where available. - Nearby-road caching and GPS-aware road following on devices with sufficient memory. Lower-memory devices retain compact point lookups. - Restored cache/download arc: it reflects distance and data age, with a full ring during requests. Valid labels are retained during background refreshes where possible. - More conservative overspeed alerts: vibration and red warnings require a fresh, unambiguous match with mapped sign evidence. Estimates and probable values do not trigger them. - Updated connection, trial and settings information. The legacy fixed zone-edge distance no longer controls the redesigned indicator. v2.1.0 - Settings delivered to the watch can take effect during the activity without restarting. - Added Venu X1 and Edge MTB support. Map coverage is not complete. Always follow road signs and applicable rules.
