Open the garage as you roll up the drive. Switch on the porch light from the saddle. Check the living-room temperature before you head home. HomeAssistantIQ puts the Home Assistant entities you choose on your Garmin watch or Edge. Pick up to 16 entities, and each one shows its name and live state. Select one to act on it. WHAT IT DOES • Toggle lights, switches, fans, climate, input booleans, automations, media players and groups • Open and close covers and valves • Lock and unlock locks • Run scenes and scripts, press buttons, step through selects • Show sensors, binary sensors, people and other read-only entities • Glance view with the state of your first entity (on devices with glances) BUILT FOR USE ON THE MOVE • Optional confirmation before a lock, cover or valve moves, so a stray tap never opens the garage • A check mark with a tone or vibration tells you the action went through; a cross and an error message tell you why it did not • States refresh on their own every 30 seconds while the list is open • If a refresh fails, the last value stays on screen in grey, marked (old), so you never mistake it for a live one • Covers, valves and locks are followed while they are opening, closing, locking or unlocking • Works with buttons and with touch. Tap the title or use Menu to refresh everything SETUP (2 MINUTES) 1. In Home Assistant, open your profile → Security → Long-lived access tokens → Create token, and copy it. 2. Open this app's settings in Garmin Connect / the Connect IQ app. 3. Enter your Home Assistant URL, paste the token, and list your entity IDs separated by commas, for example: cover.garage_gate, light.porch, lock.front_door REQUIREMENTS • A Home Assistant instance reachable from the internet over HTTPS with a valid certificate (Home Assistant Cloud / Nabu Casa, or your own domain with Let's Encrypt). Plain http:// and self-signed certificates are rejected by the phone. • Your Garmin device connected to your phone with Garmin Connect running. All requests go through the phone. GOOD TO KNOW • A token from a dedicated non-admin Home Assistant user is the safer choice, since it sits on a device you carry around. The app then loads entities one by one, which is a little slower. Home Assistant shows one "Login attempt failed" notification the first time; the app does not repeat it. • Entities with very large attribute lists (some media players) can be too big for the device to read. • An entity that is unavailable in Home Assistant cannot be controlled until it comes back. Selecting it just refreshes it. • Vacuums, alarm panels and other entities without a simple on/off action are shown read-only. PRIVACY The app talks only to the Home Assistant address you enter. There are no accounts, no analytics and no third-party servers. Your URL and token are stored in the app's settings on your device. This is an independent app. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Home Assistant, the Open Home Foundation or Nabu Casa.
