Description
Created by JAMIE SHER BEER CALORIES How many drinks have you actually earned today? Beer Calories turns the calories you've burned into something you can picture. It counts only ACTIVE calories — your day's total minus the resting burn you'd have had lying on the sofa — so you have to move to earn anything. Resting burn is estimated from your Garmin profile (height, weight, age, sex). Add it as a widget, or see it at a glance in the widget glance carousel. CHOOSING YOUR DRINK Open the widget, then: • MENU, START, or tap the screen Then in the picker: • START or tap — next drink • UP / DOWN — adjust that drink's calories, 5 at a time • BACK — close Each drink keeps its own calorie figure, so you can set beer to what your usual bottle costs and leave the wine alone. NO UP/DOWN BUTTONS ON YOUR WATCH? On vívoactive, Venu and Venu Sq there's no UP/DOWN column, so the calories are set from your phone instead. You can still choose the drink on the watch by tapping. In the Garmin Connect app: More (≡) → Garmin Devices → your watch → Activities, Apps & More → Widgets → Beer Calories → Settings There you'll find "Drink" to choose your drink, and "Calories per drink" to set what each one costs. Anything from 30 to 400 kcal. (Garmin Express does the same thing from a computer.) THE DRINKS Beer, 330 ml .......... 140 kcal Red wine, 150 ml ...... 125 kcal White wine, 150 ml .... 120 kcal Brandy & Coke ......... 145 kcal Gin & tonic ........... 105 kcal Margarita ............. 200 kcal Aperol spritz ......... 150 kcal These are ordinary pub measures. If your usual glass is bigger — a pint rather than a bottle, say — change the figure in the settings and the count follows.
