Guide and changelog: https://www.petrrezek.net/en/garmin/namedays-lv/#guide Support development: https://buymeacoffee.com/petrrezek Type the names you care about and the watch reminds you the day BEFORE their name day - while there is still time for flowers. Plus the whole Latvian name-day calendar (vardadienas) on your wrist, with no phone and no internet. MY NAMES • Type the names of the people close to you in Garmin Connect, separated by commas. • The watch lists them by whose name day comes first - today in a pill, tomorrow outlined, the rest with a countdown. • A separate alert with its own switch and its own time. It arrives the day before; on the day itself it is late for flowers. • A name the Latvian calendar does not know stays in the list marked with an exclamation mark, so a typo is visible instead of silent. • Birthdays and anniversaries in a second field ("Mum 3/12, Wedding 6/5") join the same list and the same alert. • The glance tells you when someone from your list has a name day tomorrow. AND THE REST • Glance: today's and tomorrow's name day right in the glance list; a colour stripe shows whether today is an ordinary name day or a public holiday. • Main screen: the name of the day on its own card, tomorrow on a quiet line below; Latvian public holidays (New Year, Easter, Labour Day, Restoration of Independence, Ligo and Jani, Proclamation Day, Christmas, New Year's Eve) carry a badge with the holiday name. • Full-year list: scroll the whole year, jump to a month, or search a name - case- and diacritics-insensitive ("berzins" finds Bērziņš, "una" finds Ūna). • Daily alert: an optional reminder at a time you choose, telling you whose name day it is today. • Special days: Mother's Day, Father's Day, Valentine's Day, International Women's Day, Lacplesis Day and both clock changes, with an optional alert the evening before. • Settings on the watch as well as in Garmin Connect - one set of settings, not two copies. • Latvian and English interface. 111 supported watches.
Nouveautés
1.0.3 - 2026-09-18 - Long names and holiday names no longer end in an ellipsis: when they don't fit the screen, they slowly scroll so you can read them in full. This works on today's screen, for the highlighted day in the year list and in My names. 1.0.2 - 2026-09-17 - The My names and Birthdays and anniversaries fields now hold 500 characters instead of 150. Older watches with less memory (fēnix 5 and 6 series, first-generation MARQ, Forerunner 245 Music, 745 and 945, Descent Mk1 and Mk2, D2 Delta, enduro, Instinct E and Instinct 3 Solar 45 mm) stay at 150. - Fixed: on those older watches the glance could crash when both fields were well filled. 1.0.1 - 2026-09-14 - Older watches whose font has no Latvian letters (fēnix 5 Plus, 5S Plus, 5X Plus and 5X, D2 Delta, Delta PX and Delta S, Descent Mk1, Forerunner 645 Music) now show names and texts without diacritics instead of question marks. 1.0 - 2026-09-13 - First release: the full traditional Latvian name-day calendar (vardadienas) on your watch. - My names: type the people you care about and get a reminder the day before their name day. - Latvian public holidays highlighted year-round, including the moveable Easter dates. - Special days: Mother's Day, Father's Day, Valentine's Day, Women's Day, Lacplesis Day, both clock changes. - Glance, full-year list with search, daily alert - Latvian and English interface.
