Description
Varsku shows official warnings for where you are: floods and landslides from NVE (the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate), and dangerous weather from the Norwegian Meteorological Institute. No place to pick, no account, no subscription. The app uses your location and finds the municipality and the warnings itself. The main page shows the most serious warning first: level (yellow, orange or red), what it is about and when it applies. If there are several warnings, scroll between them with UP and DOWN. Press START for the warning's main message and advice. Hold UP to fetch again. What is covered: - Floods and landslides (NVE), for the municipality you are in - Dangerous weather (Norwegian Meteorological Institute): wind gusts, heavy rain and cloudbursts, snow and blowing snow, ice, lightning, forest fire danger, polar lows, high water levels and extreme weather - The avalanche danger level (NVE) as one line. The full forecast is on varsom.no and in our separate app Skredfare. Warnings are shown from yellow level and up. «Ingen varsel» (no warning) is only shown when all sources have answered. If something is missing, the app says so. The glance shows the most serious warning and the municipality without opening the app. Warnings update in the background about once an hour when the watch is connected to your phone. On the fēnix 6 series, Forerunner 245, 745 and 945, MARQ (first generation) and Enduro there is not enough memory for background updates. There the glance shows what was fetched the last time the app was open, with the time. It works in Norway only, and the text on the watch is in Norwegian. It needs the Garmin Connect app on your phone. Your location is sent rounded to about 1 km. The app shows official warnings and is for guidance only. Always check varsom.no and met.no and make your own assessment. The app is not affiliated with NVE, Varsom, the Norwegian Meteorological Institute or Yr.
