The CORE Connect-IQ Data Field captures and displays your thermal data live from your CORE sensor. • You will need to have a CORE sensor for this Data Field to work. It indicates the cumulated time spent in each CORE heat zone throughout the workout. All data streams are stored in the fit-file and displayed in your Connect-IQ app for post-workout analysis. What does CORE do? CORE is the first wearable sensor that accurately monitors core body temperature continuously and non-invasively. Athletes can rely on real-time monitoring of thermal data and record it to the fit-file for post-workout analysis. Core body temperature is a vital metric and for sports, when you get hot, your power output can start to drop. With core body temperature monitoring, athletes can train and condition their body to become more efficient at cooling and to increase power output. The ability to monitor core body temperature in real-time and analyse the data provides more insights and control over your performance. The data can be used by athletes to avoid heat-stress, to undertake heat training, heat adaption, and to identify the most effective cooling strategies. For this version of the Data Field please make sure the firmware of the CORE sensor is at least version 0.8.7 or newer. CHANGES Version 2.0.8 - support new devices. Version 2.0.7 - rollback to previous version to fix problems with modern Garmin devices. NOTE about App Settings The following options are only relevant when using the "simple" text-only variation of the data field: Display Option 0 : The data field display the real-time core body temperature. Display Option 1 : The data field alternates between real-time core body temperature and skin temperature. Display Option 2 : The data field alternates between real-time core body temperature and Heat Strain Index (HSI). Display Option 3 : This combines '1' and '2'. The data field alternates between real-time core body temperature, Skin temperature and Heat Strain Index (HSI).
