Put yourself on the Global Adventurer live map while you walk, run or ride with your Garmin: on your own, or with your whole group on one map. How it works 1. In the Global Adventurer app on your iPhone, start live location sharing and tap "Share from a Garmin watch". You get a six-character code. 2. In Garmin Connect, open this field's settings and type the code. 3. Add the field to your Hike, Walk, Run or Ride activity screen. While the activity timer runs, it sends your position once a minute through the Garmin Connect app on your phone. The people you send the link to see where you are in any web browser, with no app or account. The field shows Live when it's working, and says what to do when it isn't: pair, waiting for GPS, phone out of reach, or share stopped. Devices fēnix 7, 8, 9 and E, epix (Gen 2), Enduro 3, tactix 7 and 8, quatix 7 and 8, MARQ (Gen 2), D2 Mach 1 and 2, Forerunner 70, 165, 170, 255, 265, 570, 955, 965 and 970, Venu 3, 4 and X1, vívoactive 5 and 6, Instinct 3, E and Crossover AMOLED, Edge 540, 550, 840, 850, 1040, 1050 and MTB. What you need - The Global Adventurer app for iPhone with Global Adventurer Pro. - The Garmin Connect app on the same phone, with the phone with you: positions travel over its Bluetooth connection. Privacy Only your position, height and GPS accuracy are sent, only while the activity timer runs, and only to the share you started. Global Adventurer's server deletes them when you stop sharing, and after 24 hours at most unless you set an expected-back time in the app (the privacy policy says how long then). The field now gets your position. It was missing the location permission, so it could sit on "Waiting for a fix". You will be asked to approve the new permissions when you update. A wrong or expired code is no longer retried every 30 seconds. Type the new code in the field's settings and it pairs at once.
