This is a version of Chariot J-Shock that uses openweathermap.org as a weather source. Go there and get your free API key. You'll need it! (*INSTRUCTIONS BELOW*) Features: 1. Big time: 12/24 hour. Remove PM indicator, change time separator or add leading "0" to hours in settings. Change 12/24 time format in Settings/System/Time ON YOUR WATCH. 2. Date, day. Change date format in app settings. MM/DD or DD/MM 3. Current weather conditions with icon. TEMP is in C or F (CHANGE in Settings/System/Units ON YOUR WATCH). Configure weather description in app settings. 4. Battery charge level in % and color graph, with green to 25%, yellow to 10%, red to 5%, dark red to 0% 5. Current heart rate. 6. Calories burned today. 7. Distance traveled today in miles or km, depending on your watch settings. Change km to mi in Settings/System/Units ON YOUR WATCH. 8. Steps walked today. 9. Active minutes today or weekly. 10. Floors climbed today. If font is set to small, goal floors will be shown. 11. Meters or Feet climbed today. Change ft to m Settings/System/Units ON YOUR WATCH 12. Sensor Altitude, in meters or feet, depending on your device altitude unit settings. 13. Solar intensity, if your device supports it. 14. Week number. (Can be placed instead of Battery %) 15. Wind conditions - multiple wind speed units in app settings. 16. Relative humidity %. 17. Current barometric pressure - millibars for metric, inHg for imperial. 18. Next Sunrise / Sunset 19. Moon phase 20. Second time zone. (Can be placed instead of Battery %) 21. Enable Notifications / Bluetooth / Alarms / Do Not Disturb status icons in app settings. (Off by default) 22. Change background, foreground and time colors in settings. 23. Make font for top fields and day of the week larger in app settings. 24. Always-on or at-a-glance seconds. *API KEY INSTRUCTIONS* 1. Go to openweathermap.org and open a FREE account. Go to API Keys tab - Current Weather Data - Subscribe - FREE plan - Get API key. DO NOT subscribe for paid plans. 2. Generate a new key. Some people report that default key didn't work for them. 3. Paste this 32-digit key in Chariot B-Shock app settings via Garmin Connect app on your phone. It's the first option in this watch face settings. Click "Apply" or "Done" or "Save" 4. If you see WAITING FOR LOCATION - step outside and start an activity. Once GPS turns green, switch back to the watch face - your location will be updated. If your watch is able to get location from your phone: allow Garmin Connect app access to your location and run in the background. 5. If you see WAITING FOR WEATHER or don't see weather description - open Garmin Connect app on your phone and sync with your watch. Wait for the next weather update. 6. If you see KEY INVALID OR INACTIVE - check if you've pasted the key right. Give them two hours to activate it, or generate a new one. 7. Garmin Connect (NOT Connect IQ) app must be allowed to run in the background on your phone. All features are enabled and free. This app does not collect or store your info. Permissions are required to get weather for your location and query the weather service in the background. Garmin Connect (NOT Connect IQ) app must be allowed to run in the background on your phone. It's a proxy for weather requests. DO NOT subscribe for paid plans on OpenWeatherMap. IF YOU CHANGE YOUR TEMP UNITS in your watch Settings/System/Units then you'll need to wait for for the next weather update. WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN J-SHOCK AND B-SHOCK? J-Shock uses Garmin’s weather, doesn’t run any background processes, doesn’t need any permissions, doesn't use watch GPS sensors to get your location, no weather API keys, but it’s not compatible with devices that don’t support new Garmin weather functionality. B-Shock uses OpenWeatherMap.org as a weather source, has sunrise/sunset times, but also needs permission to your location and background processing, requires API keys for the weather. It’s for those devices that don't support Garmin weather, or for those people that prefer a different weather source.
