FOR THE ZEELAND OPEN WATER SWIMMER Everything you need for a swim in the Westerschelde or Oosterschelde. TIDE AT ANY MOMENT See at a glance whether the tide is coming in or going out, the current water level, and when the next high or low tide will occur. Tide predictions come from Rijkswaterstaat. Between measurement points, the water level is smoothly interpolated — even if you leave your phone at home. A green upward arrow means incoming tide; a red downward arrow means outgoing tide. TIDE TABLE — 7 DAYS AHEAD Tap the tide page for a full weekly overview of high and low tides. WATER TEMPERATURE Current water temperature for the selected measurement point. WEATHER AT SWIM LEVEL Air temperature, wind speed, and wind direction. Wind speed is also shown in Beaufort; wind direction uses the 16-point compass (NNE, SSW, …). GLANCE IN YOUR WIDGET CAROUSEL The most important information — tide direction, water level, water temperature, air temperature, and wind — summarized in two lines, visible without opening the app. Tap the tide page for a full weekly overview of high and low tides. CHOOSE YOUR LOCATION - Westerschelde (Vlissingen) - Oosterschelde (Kats) - Westerschelde (Breskens) - Oosterschelde (Oesterdam, Marollegat station) - Veerse Meer (Oranjeplaat) — no tide - Westerschelde (Ossenisse) - Westerschelde (Terneuzen) Swimmers from Kattendijke-Wemeldinge should select the Kats measurement point. By default, the app starts on Vlissingen. You can change locations on your watch or through the Garmin Connect app on your phone. Switching locations requires a Bluetooth connection. TIDE TYPE — ASTRONOMICAL OR FORECAST Choose between the standard astronomical prediction (7 days ahead, based purely on the positions of the sun and moon) and the Rijkswaterstaat forecast (1–2 days ahead, including weather effects — wind can significantly affect water levels). Switch directly on your watch. SPRING TIDE AND NEAP TIDE Spring tide (around new and full moon, with the largest tidal movement) and neap tide (around first and last quarter moon, with the calmest tides) are shown next to the date in the table and summarized on the main page. Ideal for planning your swim. ALWAYS UP TO DATE When you add the glance to your carousel, data updates automatically in the background every 30 minutes. The sync page shows the time of the latest update. Tap to fetch a fresh measurement.
