How many Big Macs does your body burn per 100 km? The BigMac/100km data field shows your average energy consumption per 100 km in Big Macs — just like fuel consumption in vehicles, but measured in a unit your body can relate to! Use it to compare the energy efficiency of different activities, including walking, running, cycling, e-biking and more. **How does it work?** During the first 100 metres, the field displays “Calc...” because the initial data is too unreliable for a meaningful estimate. As you cover more distance, the estimate becomes increasingly representative of your activity. The calculation uses a reference energy value of 531 kcal per Big Mac, the distance travelled and the calories burned as estimated by your Garmin device. The displayed value is an estimate for informational and comparison purposes only. Actual energy expenditure may differ.
