Add an interval countdown to your Garmin's native recorded activity with Flex Intervals Field. Garmin continues recording your run or ride and keeps its normal start, pause, stop, and lap controls. Configure preparation, work, rest, rounds, cooldown, sound, and vibration in Connect IQ settings. Defaults are 10 seconds preparation and eight rounds of 20 seconds work plus 10 seconds rest, with no cooldown. Rest follows every round, including the last. Durations accept 0–3600 seconds and rounds 1–99; zero-second phases are skipped. The field shows the current phase/round and remaining time using native Garmin fonts. It adapts to the actual field bounds and black/white activity background, with compact labels and a countdown-only fallback for small fields. Choose a larger field to see both the phase and timer. Native inset screens and resting analog hands have reserved clearance in compatible layouts. Timing follows recorded activity timer time, so manual pause and Auto Pause stop the interval countdown. Adding the field midway through an activity shows the phase for the activity's elapsed recorded time. Save/discard resets the field for the next activity. Supported devices can sound or vibrate at phase changes and completion; missed historical cues are suppressed. The field supports 153 declared product families, including compatible watches, monochrome Instinct families, and 20 Edge families including Edge 130/130 Plus. It requires Connect IQ 2.4 or newer. Capabilities and field layouts vary by model. This is independent of the standalone Flex Intervals app and does not read its workout templates. It does not start recording, create laps, write custom FIT fields, collect sensor data, or synchronize a custom workout. It uses no network or background service and requires no companion account.
