Orienteering Helper is a data field for orienteering and navigating in the field. It shows how far and in which direction you have moved from a reference point that you set with the LAP button, together with the distance actually travelled and the time since that point. HOW IT WORKS 1. Add the data field to an activity screen and start the activity. Until the timer is started the field shows "Start Activity". 2. The first GPS position after the start becomes the reference point. 3. Press LAP whenever you want to set a new reference point at your current position, e.g. at a control point. All values start again from zero. DISPLAYED VALUES - Direct: straight-line distance from the reference point to your position (meters) - Total: distance actually travelled since the reference point (meters) - Bearing: direction from the reference point to your position (degrees, 0° = north) - Time: time since the reference point was set (MM:SS) - LAP (n): how many times the reference point was reset Total distance is not counted while the activity is paused. Saving or discarding the activity clears all values. LAYOUT The field adapts to the space it gets: full view with labels on a large field, two lines without labels on a medium field and a single line (distance and bearing) in the smallest fields. On round screens the text is never cut off by the screen edge. SETTINGS Theme: Dark (default), Light or Follow watch (uses the data field background color set on the watch).
