Velocomm Status keeps the four ride-critical room indicators visible inside a Garmin activity data field. The full field changes color with the phone-to-room connection: green for connected, amber for a weak or reconnecting link, and red for disconnected or stale phone data. The field also shows the current speaker, total participant count, and microphone mode. On touchscreen Garmin devices, tap the data field to turn the phone microphone off or restore the previous Voice or Open mode. On non-touch devices the field is display-only. REQUIRES VELOCOMM This data field is a companion for the Velocomm iPhone or Android app. Pair the Garmin through Garmin Connect, join a Velocomm room on the phone, and add Velocomm Status to an activity data screen. Audio remains on the phone and connected headset; the Garmin does not record or carry audio. Connection status is informational and refreshes periodically. Do not rely on it for emergency communication. Stay aware of traffic and your surroundings.
