Trekdeck is one hiking data field that fills any slot on your data screen with the numbers you pick. In a full screen it is a dashboard of up to 11 values plus a speed graph coloured by heart-rate zone; in half a screen it shows your top four; in a quarter two; in the smallest slot one. It works without any setup: the Hike preset shows distance, time, speed, ascent, altitude, heart rate, vertical speed, daylight left, steps, time of day, last-hour speed and battery. Trekdeck tells you when you will arrive and whether you will make it before dark. When you follow a course it takes the distance and height difference to the finish from your watch; without a course you can enter the planned tour length and ascent. Time to go uses the DAV/SAC hiking-time rule of the Alpine clubs and learns your own speed on the flat, uphill and downhill as you walk, including your breaks. From your position it works out sunset (or the end of civil twilight) and shows the daylight margin at arrival in green, orange or red, with an alert when that margin gets small. WHAT IT DOES - 42 values to choose from: speed, pace, heart rate, HR zone, %HRmax or %HR reserve, distance, timer, moving time, ascent, descent, altitude, vertical speed, grade, steps, step cadence, step length, last-hour pace, speed and ascent, time of day, battery and more - Time to go, arrival time, distance and ascent to go: from your course, or from a planned tour length and ascent - Three time-to-go models: DAV/SAC that learns your pace, DAV/SAC standard, or Naismith (older watches with little memory, such as fenix 6 and Instinct 2, use the standard models and skip the last-hour values) - Sunset or end of civil twilight, daylight left, and daylight margin at arrival with colours and an alert - Presets Hike / Navigate / Climb / Fitness walk / Long day, or your own order in 12 slots - Kalman-smoothed speed with adjustable smoothing; HR zone colours as in Garmin Connect - Automatic, dark, light and high-contrast colours; five languages - Smoothed speed, HR zone and vertical speed saved to the FIT file, plus steps per lap and per activity WHAT IT NEEDS - GPS for speed and distance; a barometric altimeter for vertical speed and grade; a heart-rate sensor for HR values - A course or a planned tour length for time to go; a GPS fix once for sunset - Settings in the Connect IQ app (preset, slots, time-to-go model, tour length and ascent, daylight alert) - How to add: start a hike, open Settings / Data Screens, pick a screen and a field, then choose Connect IQ / Trekdeck. Then press BACK until you see the activity screen and scroll to that page. Until you press START it shows dashes (--). Tip: a 1-field layout gives the full dashboard
