FULL GUIDE WITH SCREENSHOTS: https://www.petrrezek.net/en/garmin/recap/#guide ENJOYING RECAP? BUY ME A COFFEE: https://buymeacoffee.com/petrrezek Your watch only remembers about 7 days of activity history, and yearly recap summaries are normally a subscription feature. Recap fixes both directly on the watch: it snapshots your activity day by day into on-watch storage and builds its own statistics: a weekly summary, a monthly one and a year in review — no subscription, no account, no phone, no server. YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS • everything is computed and stored on the watch; online only for the anonymous Plus license check and a transfer you start • new watch? Your history moves over with an 8-character code, encrypted, deleted once downloaded THREE FULL-SCREEN PAGES — START BUTTON OR TAP • LAST 7 DAYS — steps, distance, calories, floors and active minutes, 7 daily bars against your step goal (dashed line: how close a missed day came) and a 5-of-7 goal score • THIS MONTH — totals, the daily average and the weeks as bars against your goal line • THIS YEAR — totals, your best day with its date, and all twelve months as bars; an honest SINCE tag when tracking started mid-year CONTROLS • START or tap — next page: 7 days → month → year → (Recap Plus: trends → wellness week → wellness month → recovery) → back to 7 days • DOWN or swipe up — one period older; UP or swipe down — one period newer, or one page back once you are at the current period • BACK — the first press returns to the current period, the second closes the widget • hold MENU (UP), or touch and hold the screen — settings on the watch YOUR YEAR (December and early January, or all year in the settings) • your year as a story, card by card: steps and distance as a share of the way round the Earth • Recap Plus adds your best day in a grid of the whole year, your best month, goal days and longest streak, floors against Mount Everest, your strongest weekday and a summary framed by your twelve months TRENDS (Recap Plus) • twelve weeks on one screen, and the number no other screen shows you: what an average week of yours looks like • DOWN zooms out to twelve months, UP comes back to the weeks • your best week or month sits at the bottom, with its date • steps by default, or distance, active minutes, calories or floors in the settings WELLNESS + RECOVERY PAGES (Recap Plus) • resting heart rate as the headline, with stress, SpO2 and Body Battery daily ranges • average recovery time, breathing rate, max heart rate and 7 daily bars of recovery load • 14-day free trial for every install, then a one-time unlock at https://kzl.io/code (the watch shows a short code) — no subscription, no account. The trial is there to try Plus out; the unlock is a one-time purchase and is not refundable HOW IT WORKS • syncs in the background every 4 hours and on every open, so no day is missed GLANCE AND WATCH FACE • glance: live steps today, plus 7-day steps and distance, right in the widget carousel • watch-face complications: steps today, last 7 days, this month and this year — tap to open Recap SETTINGS AND DESIGN • settings on the watch or in Garmin Connect • text size and label brightness in three steps, 7 color themes, glow in five levels • rolling 7 days or calendar week • km or miles per your watch units; watches without a barometer show BEST DAY instead of floors DEVICES • 81 watches. AMOLED from 360 px: fenix 8 and 9, epix 2, Forerunner 165/265/570/965/970, Venu 2/3/4/X1, vivoactive 5/6, Instinct 3 and Crossover AMOLED, MARQ (Gen 2), D2, Descent Mk3/G2, Approach S50/S70 • MIP (no glow): fenix 5 Plus/5S Plus/5X Plus, fenix 6 Pro, fenix 7, tactix 7, fenix 8 Solar, fenix 9 Pro Solar, Enduro 2/3, Forerunner 255 Music/945 LTE/955, MARQ (Gen 1), Descent Mk2; no complications on fenix 5 Plus, fenix 6 Pro, MARQ (Gen 1), Descent Mk2 and Forerunner 945 LTE CONTACT • questions and bug reports: prezek@seznam.cz 19 languages.

1.10.1 - 2026-10-23 - NEW: take your history to a new watch. On the old one: settings, Transfer to a new watch. Recap sends your data encrypted and shows an 8-character code. On the new one: Load data from old watch, then type the code. Need it again? START on the code screen sends a new one. The data is deleted from the server once downloaded, or after 7 days. Bought Recap Plus? Unlock it for free at kzl.io/unlock. - NEW: fenix 5 Plus, 5S Plus and 5X Plus, 81 watches in all. They have no glance, so START opens Recap full screen; there UP and DOWN browse your history as on the other watches. 1.9.7 - 2026-10-22 - NEW: Your year. In December and early January a new page follows the year page: your year as a story, card by card. Steps and the distance as a share of the way round the Earth. With Recap Plus also your best day in a grid of the whole year, your best month, goal days and your longest streak, floors measured against Mount Everest, your strongest weekday and a summary framed by your twelve months. DOWN shows the next card, START moves on. - Behind the numbers of the story lies a faint contour map in the colour of each card. On fenix 7 and other MIP watches too, except the fenix 6 Pro generation. How bright it is follows the Glow behind the number setting (0 turns it off). - New setting: Show Your year. Only in December and early January, all year, or never. Want to see it now? Choose All year. 1.8.0 - 2026-10-21 - NEW: 26 more watches, 78 in all: the whole fenix 7 series (7, 7S, 7X, Pro and Solar), fenix 8 Solar, fenix 9 Pro Solar, tactix 7, Enduro 2 and 3, Forerunner 955, 945 LTE and 255 Music, MARQ (Gen 1) and Descent Mk2 / Mk2 S. MARQ (Gen 1), Descent Mk2 and Forerunner 945 LTE have no watch-face complications, like the fenix 6 Pro. - NEW watch-face complications: steps this month and steps this year. The yearly total, usually a subscription feature, can now sit on your watch face all year. Tap it to open Recap. - Fixed: on the fenix 6 Pro the RECAP PLUS button text ran over its outline.
