A datafield which calculates in real time your VO2 and VO2 max during running courses (one field layout). The VO2 max calculated for each refresh time and energy expenditure are saved each second in the FIT file, and VO2 max for the session and smoothed VO2 max at the end of the session (if option is checked in the app settings). So, you will be able to visualize the corresponding VO2 graph in your Garmin Connect profile. The smoothed VO2 max is saved into the app settings for the next session, and will remain displayed for the first 20 minutes before being updated by the new one. Operation: - a first level of x min during which the VO2 max is calibrated for its reliability. The value is red in color for 4/5ths of the calibration time, then turns blue for the last 1/5, and becomes white or black when the VO2 max is considered reliable. Cardiac drift corresponds to a large upward deviation of the HR at equal speed / pace. In this DF, the cardiac drift begins to be checked and calculated after 10 minutes of running, the drift is displayed next to the HR and these 2 values then go red as long as there is a drift. There is also the possibility to run a Cooper test as an option to select in the app settings: you choose the test duration (6, 8, 10 or 12 minutes) and, while running the test, you will find a dot + distance estimator indicating that you run it. When you reached the end of the test time, the watch vibes to inform you, but you can continue to run and the VO2 max will be always calculated after this time limit.
