The app uses the accelerometer to detect snooker shots. The movement during the shot is analyzed and evaluated. The watch’s display shows metrics such as shot strength, pauses before and after the shot, time spent aiming, follow-through, and “pot success.” Optionally, the data can be transmitted to an Android app (Smart Snooker). There, additional data can be entered after a break—for example, the color of the pocketed balls, whether you were snookered, fouls, or foul points received, etc. The Android app is free, but to establish a connection with the Garmin smartwatch, you must unlock this feature via an in-app purchase. Since the Android app is currently in open beta, there is no cost to use it. The data is stored in a local database and can be analyzed in a variety of ways.
