介绍

**Radar Fornai** shows you, in real time, how far away the other riders of your private group are — directly in a data field on your Edge. **Privacy first — sharing is OFF by default.** Radar Fornai never sends anything until *you* turn on "Share my GPS position" in the app settings. You choose a nickname (not your real name) and a group code: only people who enter the **same group code** can see your distance, and you theirs. Nobody else. **What is shared** - Your nickname, your group code, your GPS position rounded to about 11 m, and the time of the last update. Nothing else: no real name, no e-mail, no Garmin account, no heart rate, power or route history. **How long it is kept** - The server keeps only your **latest** position and deletes it automatically **2 hours** after the last update. Turn sharing off at any time and the app stops immediately and clears its local cache. **How it works** 1. Install the data field and add it to a data screen. 2. In Garmin Connect → Connect IQ → Radar Fornai → Settings, read the privacy policy, enable "Share my GPS position", enter a nickname and a group code shared with your friends. 3. Start your activity. Every 60 seconds the field refreshes and shows one line per group member with the distance in km. Tap to scroll if there are more than 7.

更新内容

## [1.8.0] — 2026-11-04 — Privacy compliance release This release addresses every point raised in the Connect IQ review of 2026-11-03 (section *c. Privacy and Data Use*). Summary of how each requirement is met: | Garmin requirement | How 1.8.0 complies | |---|---| | **Permissions** — seek permission before collecting location data | New `Share my GPS position` setting, **off by default**. While off, the data field makes **no network requests at all** and displays "Sharing OFF". The setting description explains what is sent, where, for how long, and links to the privacy policy. Withdrawing consent immediately stops transmission and clears the local cache. | | **Notice** — publish your own privacy policy | Privacy policy (IT/EN) published at **https://radar.sciaccaweb.net/privacy**, linked in the Store listing, in the consent setting text and in the app description. It names the controller, data processed, legal basis (consent), retention, recipients, and how to exercise GDPR rights. | | **Data minimization** — collect, process and retain as little as possible | Only four fields are processed: user-chosen nickname, group code, lat/lon rounded to 4 decimals (~11 m), upload time. Positions are shared **only within a private group** (same group code). The server stores **only the latest position** per nickname and **deletes it automatically after 2 hours**. No real name, email, Garmin account, activity metrics, device IDs, route history, or third-party SDKs. Web-server logs do not record client IPs. A `DELETE /api/position` endpoint allows immediate erasure. | ### Added - Consent toggle `Share my GPS position` (default **off**); no data leaves the device until enabled. - `Nickname` setting (replaces the hard-coded `radar_user`); users are asked not to use their real name. - `Group code` setting: positions are visible only to users sharing the same code. - Settings are re-read immediately (`onSettingsChanged`); revoking consent wipes the local cache. - Public privacy policy, Italian and English: https://radar.sciaccaweb.net/privacy - Backend v2: 2-hour TTL, per-group filtering, `DELETE /api/position?u=&g=` for erasure on request, IP-free logging. ### Changed - GPS coordinates are rounded to 4 decimal places before upload. - Upload happens only while an activity is recording, at most once every 60 s. - The user's own nickname is excluded from the displayed list. - Polling moved from `onTimerStart` to `compute()` with a 60-second gate (previously ran once per activity). - Local storage now holds only the last received list (`users`, `lats`, `lons`, `time`); the user's own position is no longer persisted. - Distance calculation: `cos(lat)` via Taylor series instead of a fixed constant. ### Removed - Hard-coded username `radar_user`. - Hard-coded test users in the production build. - Publicly visible position list (replaced by private groups).
