Thanks so much for developing this effective way to better estimate 'steps' when using alpine/walking poles for walking or cross-country skiing. Wonderful. I did some calibration tests working on the basis that my 'alpine pole walking' has pretty much half the arm movements than without poles. I then set the multiplier at "2" and then did 4 separate 1km walks on flat ground, two with poles and two without. Each time, I got around 2650 steps, which is about twice what I would normally do without poles (about 1350). So, using poles or not, the same value was reported. Odd?
