# Garmin_DataField_EPperHour Datafield for Garmin Watch to show EP per Hour ## What is EP Effort Point (EP) is introduced by International Trail running Association (ITRA) to measure the effort used during the trail running activities. EP is calculated by the sum of total distance reached (kilometer) and the total Elevation gain (meter). For example, 1km is 1EP and also 100m elevation gain is also 1EP. Example: For a race of 100 Km and 5000m Elevation Gain, the EP is 150 ## What is EpH EP per Hour (EpH) is the real time display of the current effort used vs time on your overall trail running activities. This method is proposed by Hong Kong’s Trail Running Elite Wong Ho Chung in his trail running group - The Peak hunter. This is super useful while you chasing your plan during a race.
