What's New
DataFace is designed for personal use, as no other watch face in the store is capable of what I need. This is my daily driver and a tool for every occasion. I'd be glad if you like it too, and if so, please rate it ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ and leave a review to help this watch face rise higher in the rankings and get noticed by other people. Besides, it encourages me to further development. Thank you! If you happen to see watch face crashing with the "IQ!" screen, please use "Contact Developer" link and make sure to include your email address, otherwise I won't be able to respond to you. Feel free to leave your feedback, ask questions, report bugs and suggest new features on the forum: https://forums.garmin.com/developer/connect-iq/f/showcase/411195/dataface. Q&A Q: Where are the settings? I don't see a corresponding button in Connect IQ™ and Garmin Express™. A: DataFace is configured on the device itself, and unlike other watch faces, this is the only way to customize it. If you have fēnix®, epix™, Forerunner® or other similar 5-button watch, hold UP/MENU button, select "Watch Face", scroll to the DataFace, press START button and select "Customize". If you're using Venu® or other 2- or 3-button device, hold BACK/MENU button, select "Watch Face", scroll to the DataFace and tap the pencil icon. Q: How to use data fields above and below time? A: These are grids of 4 rows and 2 columns, the cells of which can be merged into any rectangular area. Simply draw such a grid on paper, select any non-overlapping rectangles you want to fill with the required data and then select those areas from the menu. Q: Why Sun and Moon related metrics show "--"? A: DataFace needs to know your location for these calculations - just go outside, start any GPS activity, wait for the location fix, discard the activity and return back to the watch face. Q: Can I choose another fonts? A: This watch face uses system fonts, and there is no such feature right now, but things may change later. Q: How can I switch between the screens? A: You can press and hold hours to go back and minutes to go forward in the screens loop. You can also set automatic forward screens switching using single or double gesture, with optional auto-return to the first screen on the next gesture after a longer delay. CHANGELOG Venu® 2 and derivatives are not getting new features. Read "SUPPORTED DEVICES" above for more details. 260503 - Anniversary release. DataFace celebrates its first year in the store! Thank you for being part of this! - Added watch face colors auto selection, that randomly picks mutually contrasting background, text and data colors. Press DOWN / swipe up to get a new color set, press UP / tap / swipe down to swap the roles of colors in the current set, press START to apply. Due to the peculiarities of color rendering on MIP displays, achieving the best results on such devices may require several additional attempts or swaps. - Minor improvements. 260419 - Internal modifications to improve performance and stability. - Minor fixes. - Extended the list of supported devices. 260405 - Fixed an issue where outdated Sun and Moon position data could be displayed for a short time immediately after switching screens. - Fixed a potential out-of-memory error in settings menu that resulted from a previous code refactoring aimed at preventing crashes due to broken system APIs on all latest-gen devices. - Internal optimizations on legacy devices to prevent memory limits from being exceeded in the next few versions. - Minor improvements and fixes. 260322 - Added support for Approach® S50 and vívoactive® 6. All features related to altitude, pressure and internal temperature of the device, including offline weather forecasting, are not available due to the lack of necessary hardware capabilities. - Added new "training status" text data field. - Unsupported data fields (e.g., solar intensity on devices without solar charging, etc.) are now removed from the settings menu. - Internal improvements.
