Your two-factor codes, on your wrist. AUTHENTICATOR generates time-based 2FA codes on compatible Garmin watches. Keep up to 3 accounts for free. Pro removes the three-account limit and enables PIN Lockdown, subject to your watch’s memory and storage. Saved codes work offline, without your phone nearby. FEATURES • Large, readable codes and a countdown to the next refresh • Layouts for round, rectangular and Instinct displays • Button navigation and swipe/tap controls on touchscreen watches • SHA-1 and SHA-256; six- or eight-digit codes • Refresh periods from 15 to 120 seconds • One optional six-digit Lockdown PIN for all accounts with Pro COMPATIBILITY Supports 128 Garmin device profiles, including Instinct, fēnix, Forerunner and Venu. Check Compatible Devices for your exact model. The original Instinct and plain vívoactive 3 are not supported. SETUP 1. Install AUTHENTICATOR from Connect IQ. Keep your watch connected to your phone. 2. Find the manual authenticator setup key in your service’s security settings. QR scanning and bulk import are not supported. 3. Open AUTHENTICATOR → Settings in Connect IQ. Open Add a key and enter Account name and New key secret (Base32). Match the service’s algorithm, digits and refresh period; commonly SHA-1, 6 digits and 30 seconds. Leave Lockdown PIN and Licence Key empty for this save. 4. Press Save. Open AUTHENTICATOR on the watch and unlock if needed. Confirm Add account with GPS/START, or tap on touchscreen watches. Compare the code with your existing authenticator, or enter it into the service to finish setup. 5. Repeat, adding and confirming one account at a time. Use UP/DOWN or swipe up/down to browse saved accounts. These phone fields add new accounts; they do not edit existing accounts. PRO LICENCE Enter your licence key in Connect IQ → Licence Key, press Save and open the watch app. Activation works before adding accounts. Paid activation and validation need your phone online. Use License to see your status or Check licence for an immediate check. If Pro ends, only the first three accounts remain accessible; all others stay saved. LOCKDOWN After activating Pro and adding an account, enter a six-digit PIN in Lockdown PIN. Leave the account name, secret and licence-key fields empty, press Save, then confirm App PIN on the unlocked watch. The PIN is set once for the whole app. Select Lockdown in the watch menu to hide all codes immediately. Use UP/DOWN or swipe up/down to change a digit, then GPS/START or tap to advance. Confirm the sixth digit to unlock. Access stays unrestricted until you select Lockdown again; closing or reopening the app does not lock it automatically. KEEP A BACKUP Keep your original setup keys and recovery codes. There is no key export or cloud backup. A forgotten PIN can only be reset with Erase all keys, which removes every saved account. The PIN controls access within the app; it does not guarantee protection against physical extraction. Garmin’s phone app may retain settings input. Clear old secret, PIN or licence-key fields if they remain visible. Keep your watch’s time correct. Never send secrets, PINs or recovery codes to support.
