Description
Driftline finds your aerobic threshold from heart-rate drift, the way endurance coaches do it: a steady hour at a fixed heart rate or pace, the warm-up ignored, and then a comparison of the first half against the second. If your pace-to-heart-rate ratio slips less than 3.5 %, you were below the threshold; above 5 %, you were over it. The watch runs the whole test for you, with GPS, a FIT recording and a live decoupling graph, and tells you at the end what the number means and which heart rate to try next time. Every test becomes a point on a chart of heart rate against drift. With two or more tests on either side, Driftline interpolates where your aerobic threshold sits and keeps that estimate up to date as you train. Alongside it runs a MAF test: your speed at a fixed heart rate (180 minus age, adjustable), corrected for heat using the temperature at the start, with a regression trend that shows whether your aerobic base is actually getting faster. It works for running and for cycling, using pace or speed only — no power meter needed. WHAT IT DOES - Guided drift test: warm-up, 60-minute test block, heart-rate band alerts by vibration or tone - Live decoupling in percent, with a minute-by-minute graph and first-half versus second-half view - A plain verdict per test (below, at or above the threshold) and the suggested heart rate for the next one - Aerobic threshold estimate from several tests, with the range when only one side is known - MAF test with heat correction and a trend line in seconds per km or km/h per four weeks - Test history, a reminder of when the next test is due, and a glance with your current estimate - Running and cycling, indoor or outdoor, FIT recording to Garmin Connect, five languages WHAT IT NEEDS - A watch with wrist heart rate or a paired chest strap, and GPS for outdoor tests - Weather data from the phone is optional and only used for the MAF heat correction
