Description
Flex Intervals is an offline interval timer for Garmin watches and compatible Edge cycling computers. Start with a preset or edit your two reusable workout templates, then build sessions with independent work/rest stages, preparation, cooldown, and nested repeat blocks. - Nine presets: Tabata, HIIT, EMOM, AMRAP, boxing, circuit, pyramid, focus, and meditation. Run a preset immediately or confirm saving it over CUSTOM. - Name your workouts, stages, and blocks. Enter names with the shared button/touch character editor or choose a common exercise label. Duplicate stages and blocks, move them, wrap a section in repeats, or restore a template. - Independent stage durations with one-second, five-second, and one-minute editing steps. Up to four repeat levels, 64 stages/blocks, and a total duration below 100 hours; zero-second stages are skipped. - Optional recovery time between block repetitions. - Large adaptive timer digits, explicit pause status, light and dark displays, and a separate hours label for longer timers. - Optional transition sound and vibration, countdown off or 3/5/10 seconds, independent countdown tone and vibration, and low/medium/high vibration intensity where supported. A preview helps check your cues; unsupported controls are hidden. - A stopwatch with up to 128 named, individually deletable laps, individual lap durations, cumulative splits, and optional sounds for start/resume, pause, lap, and confirmed reset. - Button navigation and touch scrolling on supported devices. Confirmations protect deletion, template replacement, timer stop/restart, and stopwatch reset/discard. - Monochrome Instinct and Descent G1 layouts put round/menu/lap information in the inset screen. Compatible Edge models use the same standalone timer. - Optional KEEP AWAKE while a workout or stopwatch is running; DIM DISPLAY requests 10% brightness on compatible devices. Both default to off and remain subject to Garmin display protections. - Two workout templates and display/cue preferences saved locally on your device. - Local session checkpoints every five seconds and on session changes. Enable RESTORE to reopen an interrupted workout or stopwatch paused at its last successful save, with downtime excluded; it defaults to off. The interface is English. Sound, vibration, intensity adjustment, display controls, and touch support depend on the device. KEEP AWAKE releases when paused, finished, hidden, or exited; on MIP devices it controls the backlight. Keeping the display awake increases battery use, and Garmin can limit or reject requests. DIM DISPLAY requires a compatible backlight API on Connect IQ 3.2.1 or newer. Keep the app session open while timing: timers do not run as a background service. Optional RESTORE reopens an interrupted session paused after a restart; it never counts downtime. EMOM uses timed rounds; AMRAP is a countdown cap without rep logging. This standalone app does not record activities or synchronize workouts to Garmin Connect. For intervals alongside a recorded activity, install the separate Flex Intervals Field data field and add it to a native activity screen. Its settings are independent of this app's saved workouts. Neither app requires a companion account or internet connection. Activity data field: https://apps.garmin.com/apps/f0b6f29d-bb60-4073-ad99-f80e16e80d0f
What's New
Version 1.1.0 adds nine timer presets; workout, stage, and block naming; common exercise labels and duplication; light mode; touch drag scrolling; and layouts for monochrome inset-screen watches. Support expands to 150 product families, including 18 color Edge families and seven inset-screen watch families, while preserving all 125 previously supported families and the Connect IQ 2.4 minimum. Countdowns can be off or 3, 5, or 10 seconds, with independent tone and vibration switches and vibration intensity on supported devices. Pause status is clearer. Stopwatch actions now have optional sound cues, and laps can be named or individually deleted without changing other recorded timings. HOLD MENU makes duration-step controls easier to discover. New KEEP AWAKE and DIM DISPLAY controls can request a lit display while timing on supported devices. Optional RESTORE recovers interrupted workouts and stopwatches paused from local checkpoints. Saving, recovery, stopwatch timing, and confirmation return paths have been hardened. Inset-screen and analog-hand layouts keep the timer readable. Flex Intervals Field is a separate initial release for recorded activities; it does not replace the standalone app or share its templates.
