Description
RR Hybrid (formerly Olive Sport) records hybrid fitness and running workouts on Garmin Forerunner 265 and 265S. It supports warm-up, cooldown, intervals, strength stations, AMRAP and EMOM. A built-in approximately 60-minute workout works without the optional iPhone companion. Record heart rate and estimated calories, save Garmin activities, and create a lap for each stage. During a workout, press START to pause and open the action menu. Use UP/DOWN to select and START to confirm. Actions include resume, save, resume later, a two-minute recovery heart-rate measurement, and discard with confirmation. Optional wait-for-START transitions retain separate timed rest stages. Touch is off by default and can be enabled through companion workout settings. A sustained high-HR threshold is configurable in Connect IQ settings. Outdoor mode uses GPS for distance and route recording, with distance-based running stages. The companion can configure pace bounds, HR bounds, and warm-up/cooldown HR goals with watch vibration prompts. Indoor mode does not enable GPS. Indoor distance is a device estimate and may be unreliable during strength or equipment exercises. The watch does not provide precise indoor positioning or venue map navigation. The optional RR Hybrid iPhone companion is in testing and is NOT publicly available on the Apple App Store. Multiple custom plans, workout-file sharing, course transfer, phone stage analysis, route maps and FIT recovery import require that companion. Built-in watch workouts remain independently usable. Phone route maps use Apple Maps services. Results are stored on the watch for retry when communication is available and both apps are running. Periodic progress snapshots can help recover an interrupted workout up to the last successful save; zero data loss is not guaranteed. Resume-later or crash recovery may produce separate Garmin activities. Check Garmin Connect when the status of an earlier recording is uncertain. No developer cloud backend or RR Hybrid account is required. Garmin activities are saved and synced through the Garmin ecosystem. Companion analysis and imported FIT originals are stored locally on the phone. Scores and heart-rate prompts are training references, not medical diagnosis or guaranteed health-risk detection. This is an independent app, not an official Garmin or event-organizer product.
What's New
1.2.3: - Fixes reproduced numeric/render failures when an HR reading expires between checking and use. Each render and active tick now uses one captured HR sample. - HR-target warm-up/cooldown shows HR WAIT when readings are missing; START still opens the save/resume menu. - Missing HR is not treated as zero or goal completion. Reacquired readings must satisfy the continuous goal again. - Retains workout, result, pause/save and offline-transfer compatibility. - Simulator regression tested; real-device off-wrist validation remains necessary. Recovery depends on the last successful save; zero data loss is not guaranteed.
