Description
Flipturn is a swim data field that turns your Critical Swim Speed (CSS) into a live target. In the pool it detects every length from the distance your watch records and shows the pace per 100 of the last length, how far ahead of or behind your CSS target the current repeat is, and your SWOLF with a fatigue trend. In open water it smooths your speed into a steady pace per 100 and projects your finish time for the goal distance. It fits every field size: the last-length pace in a small slot, pace with the gap to target and SWOLF in half a screen, and a full dashboard with a bar chart of your lengths, the send-off clock and your totals. A vibration tells you when a length was slower than your target, because you cannot look at the watch while swimming. WHAT IT DOES - CSS from your settings: enter it directly, or enter a 400 m and 200 m test time and Flipturn calculates CSS = 200 / (T400 - T200) - Target pace as a percentage of CSS (100 % threshold, 105 % endurance) with a margin you choose - Length detection with automatic pool length (meters or yards), per length: time, pace per 100, SWOLF, strokes and distance per stroke - Repeats and rest detected automatically; per repeat how many seconds ahead of or behind the target you are - Send-off clock: set your interval (for example 100s on 1:50); it counts down during rest and vibrates 5 seconds before and at the start - SWOLF trend: baseline from your first 200, then a moving average that shows technique decay in percent - Open water: smoothed pace per 100, finish-time projection for your goal distance, gap to your CSS target - Vibration when a length (or in open water a full minute) is slower than target plus margin, optional tone and a pop-up at send-off - In open water, pace, gap to target, lap pace and average pace are saved to the FIT file and appear as charts in Garmin Connect; in the pool everything is shown live on the watch, because Garmin does not let Connect IQ fields record data in pool swims - Light and dark backgrounds, five languages WHAT IT NEEDS - A watch with a pool swim or open water profile - Your CSS (or 400/200 test times), target percentage and send-off interval in the settings of the Connect IQ app; without settings it uses a CSS of 2:00 per 100 m and automatic pool length - Pressing LAP marks rest and a new repeat, just like in the native pool swim profile; it also syncs the send-off clock - How to add: open the Pool Swim or Open Water activity, go to Settings / Data Screens, pick a screen and a field, then choose Connect IQ / Flipturn. Then press BACK until you see the activity screen and scroll to that page. Until the activity has data it shows dashes (--).
