Description
Power in FTP zone colours with configurable corner values, lap metrics and a GPS-dependent wind arrow. DESCRIPTION Power Color Field Pro shows a large three-second average power value, a coloured zone background and four configurable corner values. Up to three display layers on touchscreen Edges provide room for lap, training-load and wind information. FEATURES • Three-second average power with FTP-based zone colours and hysteresis to prevent flickering. A light grey background indicates 0 W. • Corner values: lap power and time, average power, normalised power and lap NP, W/kg, intensity factor, training load, work in kJ, maximum power, lap maximum and wind. • Selected power values can be displayed independently in watts or percent of FTP. • Lap presses and completed workout steps reset lap metrics. • Up to three layers on touchscreen devices; one layer on devices without touch. • Relative wind arrow requires a current GPS fix and valid travel direction. Switching GPS off hides the arrow even if a wheel sensor still reports speed. A fresh direction is required after GPS is re-enabled. • Arrow colour identifies the source: green = DWD observation, yellow = weather model, pink = Garmin weather. An outline arrow indicates older external weather data. • External weather is requested approximately every 15 minutes while recording, using your connected phone and internet connection. • English, German and Italian; layout adapts to the data field size. SETUP 1. Add Connect IQ › Power Color Field Pro to a data page in your cycling profile. 2. Check FTP and rider weight in your device profile or app settings. A manually entered FTP takes priority over the profile value. 3. Configure corner values, layers and wind display in the Connect IQ app. 4. For weather requests, use GPS and connect a phone running Garmin Connect with internet access. REQUIREMENTS • Compatible power meter. • External weather also needs GPS, a connected phone and internet access. NOTES • Wind information uses station observations and models, not a local wind measurement. Garmin weather is used when available if external data is unavailable. • This Pro version does not include CdA or DRAFT calculations. • Weather requests transmit geographic coordinates over HTTPS to api.brightsky.dev and api.open-meteo.com. These providers may also receive the connection IP address and technical request data. Power and profile data are not sent to them. Settings, weather cache and recovery data stay on the device. • Weather data: Deutscher Wetterdienst via Bright Sky (https://brightsky.dev/); Météo-France via Open-Meteo (https://open-meteo.com/), CC BY 4.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/). Model wind direction may be combined with DWD wind speed. SUPPORTED DEVICES Edge 520 Plus, Edge 530, Edge 540, Edge 550, Edge 830, Edge 840, Edge 850, Edge 1030, Edge 1030 Plus, Edge 1030 Bontrager, Edge 1040, Edge 1050, Edge 1060, Edge Explore 2, Edge MTB.
What's New
VERSION 1.0.1 • No more silent default FTP: without an FTP the field shows no zones, IF or TSS and displays an "FTP?" hint. • NP, lap NP, IF and TSS show "--" instead of 0 until the 30-second window is full. • W/kg shows "--" instead of 0.00 during power meter dropouts. • Wind arrow: only with a current GPS fix; old Garmin weather is drawn as an outline and no longer used after 6 hours. • Implausible weather data is discarded, and a reset clears all ride values. VERSION 1.0.0 • First release: three-second power in FTP zone colours with a flat tile layout. • Four configurable corner values and up to three display layers on touchscreen devices. • Lap, NP, W/kg, training-load and wind values. • Supports 15 Edge models including Edge 1060.
