Description
A Hebrew watch face that knows when Shabbat begins. The face does not switch any sensor or measurement off — it only does not show them. SHABBAT TIMES ARE OFF UNTIL YOU TURN THEM ON. In the face's settings on your phone, set "זמני שבת וחג לפי מיקום" to Israel or Diaspora. That sends your approximate location (rounded to about 1 km), time zone and dates to Hebcal.com, which calculates candle-lighting and Havdalah. Nothing else is sent, and setting it back to off stops all requests and deletes the stored times. From five minutes before candle lighting until five minutes after Havdalah — Shabbat and every Yom Tov, on any weekday — the face switches by itself to a full Hebrew layout: the greeting, the Hebrew and Gregorian dates, the time, the parasha or holiday, and when they end. Purim, Chanukah and Chol HaMoed keep the weekday face. Candle lighting is 18 minutes before sunset everywhere, Havdalah at nightfall. The times follow your location, and you can also pick your city from a list so they are always right for it. The rest of the week: a large clock, the date in Hebrew, heart rate, battery, notifications and steps. On Friday and the eve of a holiday, the candles; other days, the next sunrise or sunset. FREE, WITH ONE OPTIONAL PURCHASE Free: the automatic Shabbat and Yom Tov face with the parasha and when Shabbat ends, the candles on Friday, the Israel/Diaspora choice, and the always-on display. Paid (US$9.99, one time, through Gumroad, not Garmin): a choice of 12 weekday designs, the candle-lighting time on Friday and the eve of a holiday, what the four weekday slots and the Shabbat face's bottom line show, and the clock's colour (10 colours). No trial, no subscription; nothing free today will be locked later. Buy at https://nitzshy.gumroad.com/l/shaonshabbat, paste the key you get immediately into the field "קוד פתיחה", and the watch unlocks within minutes. The key opens one watch and survives reinstalls; if you replace your watch, write to the support address on this listing and you get a new key free. Full refund within 30 days. FOR SHABBAT — set the watch once: • AMOLED watches (Venu, vívoactive 5/6, Forerunner 165/265/965/970, epix, fēnix 8 and others): turn on Always On, and turn off Gesture (raise to wake) and, if you like, touch. Battery saver and sleep settings can turn Always On off. • Other watches: the screen is always visible; turn off the backlight on gesture and on alerts. Menu names differ by model — try it on an ordinary evening first. REQUIREMENTS: a GPS fix or Garmin weather on the watch, and Garmin Connect on your phone — on an iPhone it must keep running in the background. What's New
Important fix: on watches with less memory the Shabbat face could fail to appear on Shabbat, showing the Connect IQ error icon instead. Fixed. The watches: Forerunner 55, 245, 645, 745, 935 and 945, the fēnix 5 series and Chronos, fēnix 6S, first-generation MARQ, vívoactive 3, D2 Delta, Descent Mk1 and Mk2S. To free the memory, these watches no longer include the 12 paid weekday designs; the standard weekday face, all its paid options and the Shabbat face stay as they were. Weekday design improvements: icons coloured by data type, sunrise and sunset on ordinary days, the candle-lighting time in amber on every design, a new "table" design with a steps progress bar, the watch's real step goal, icons for the rings and arcs, and a centred clock.
