Free version of Astra Recon, a tactical military watch face in pure monochrome, readable in bright sunlight, with a solar intensity gauge on solar models. It has the full layout: huge time in a sighting frame, military date and DTG line, 24-hour daylight tape, the round sub-window gauge, 8 slots with 34 data types (solar intensity included) and 5 styles: Standard, Inverted, Minimal, Data and Night. The full version adds 10 more styles (Band, Outline, Sliced, Stealth and more), live seconds in the sub-window, moon phase and a 4-hour heart rate graph: search "Astra Recon" on the store. Tactical military watch face in pure black and white, made for monochrome screens and readable in bright sunlight. A huge time sits inside a sighting frame, with a military date, a DTG line, a 24-hour daylight tape and a live gauge in the round sub-window. Clear at a glance outdoors, on the trail or in the field. PURE MONOCHROME Every pixel is black or white: no grey, no dithering. The Teko and Oswald fonts are rendered in true 1-bit and all 35 icons are drawn pixel by pixel at 11 x 11. Each screen size, the small 163 x 156 one included, has its own measured layout that stays clear of the ring around the sub-window. The images are exact captures of the 1-bit screen, pixel for pixel. On the watch, white shows as the light grey of the reflective MIP screen: the Inverted style reads best in direct sun. WHAT YOU GET • Huge bold time in Teko (53 px digits on 176-px screens) between a ruler and corner brackets, 12/24 h from your watch, AM/PM in small caps • Military style throughout: date "FRI 25 SEP", DTG line "250808Z SEP 26" (UTC Zulu, local zone with its military letter, or hidden), sunrise, sunset and 2nd time zone as "0729" • 24-hour tape with hour ticks, a thick daylight bar from sunrise to sunset and a "now" marker • Sub-window gauge: one data field with its icon and a large value, plus a thick progress arc for battery, steps, Body Battery, stress, Pulse Ox, floors, solar intensity and other fractions • 8 slots: the circle, 2 at the top, 3 at the bottom and 2 extra top slots for the Data layouts • 34 data types: steps, step %, distance, floors, calories, intensity minutes, heart rate, resting heart rate, Body Battery, stress, Pulse Ox, battery % and days, notifications, alarms, date (2 formats), week number, 2nd time zone, temperature, feels like, high/low, humidity, wind, rain chance, weather condition, sunrise, sunset, altitude, pressure, phone, do not disturb, recovery time and solar intensity • Solar intensity (0 to 100 %) on solar models; without a solar cell, that slot shows the sunset time instead • 5 core styles: Standard, Inverted (white background, best in sunlight), Minimal, Data and Night • Units from your watch (metric or statute); long rows drop their units, then use a smaller font, so nothing is cut off • Settings on the watch (Style, Data fields, DTG line) or in the Connect IQ app, in English and French; the 2nd time zone offset is set in the app Good to know: weather, sunrise and sunset need the Garmin weather location synced from your phone; the daylight bar uses it or your last GPS activity. Without a location, or for data your watch does not measure, fields show dashes. The date uses English military abbreviations.
