Description
When is the sun up high today, and is it there now? One word on your watch: OPEN or CLOSED. Nothing is locked: no trial, no unlock code, nothing to buy on the watch. No extra phone app, no account. The window The window is open while the sun is at or above 45 degrees, the height where your shadow is no longer than you are. On days the sun stays lower, as in winter, it is the two midday hours around the sun's highest point, while the sun is up, marked "Low sun". So every day the sun rises has a window. Open the app to see today's opening and closing times. The sky When your watch's own weather reports a low UV index on a day the sun climbs well above 45 degrees, or heavy cloud on other days, an open window shows as closed. A watch whose weather does not report those readings never closes the window for the sky; there the app says "No weather" instead. In your glance list On watches with a glance list, the state sits there, so a scroll shows it without opening anything. One setting Accent colour, in Garmin Connect or in the app's menu: Sky, Mint, Amber, Pink, Violet or White (a watch with an eight-colour screen offers the four colours it can draw). For information only; not medical advice or a sun-safety tool. If this app works for you, a rating in the store helps other people find it. Location and privacy Sun Window uses your watch's location to work out the sun's height. The place is rounded to a tenth of a degree and stays on your watch. It reads your watch's own weather on the watch. No account, no analytics, no ads, and the app itself uses no internet. On watches that support it, Sun Window may now and then show Garmin's own rating screen while the window is open; your place and weather never go with it.
