IMPORTANT: Please edit settings on iOS or Android, not PC/Mac. This single data field is all you need to plan and train, pace rides and races, and review the results and performance gains. World's first combined real-time graphical display covering durations from 1 second up to 3 hours of - 1st, 2nd and 3rd best Mean Max Power (MMP) - colored depending on how recent that personal record is - the MMP of the ride until the current moment - the current average power values for all those durations together with a power histogram to provide an intuitive and comprehensive real-time workout analysis. MMP or Power Duration curves show your maximum average power for various interval durations typically ranging from 1 second to above 1 hour. Previously, such curves were only available for post-ride analysis. This data field does the calculations live so that you can instantly judge your performance in comparison with your historical best performance or typical performance of other cyclists and adjust your riding! Compared with a metric like FTP, which is just one data point on the Peak Power graph, this provides much more information: how you perform at each specific duration, what type of cyclist you are, how hard you are challenging yourself in the current ride, whether and how you are getting better, whether you are on track to improve a personal record and should keep pushing, whether you should have power left and attempt a break away, etc. Please watch the video for a quick introduction. The first one is used to calculate typical MMP from weight and gender. V1.3.2: - Added support for 1040. (Note: It seems to work fine in the simulator but I have no access to a real 1040 to test.) V1.3.1: - Bug fix for 1000/1030/+. V1.3: - Simplified operation using touchscreen: Tap graph to zoom-in. Tap bottom to change to table. Note: If the app settings show a version number lower than 4.0 as settings version, you should copy the current MMP values and dates on iOS or Android, delete app, re-install app and copy MMP values. Sorry, past data will not carry over automatically when updating to 1.3 - I recommend copying regularly to somewhere else to prevent data loss. Known issues: - Use iOS/Android, not PC/Mac to edit app settings. - A rare fatal error happens only on 520+/530/820/830 despite shared algorithm and program code. FAQs: - IF YOU HAVE ANY TROUBLE AFTER UPDATING TO THE CURRENT VERSION, PLEASE TRY DELETING AND RE-INSTALLING TO FIX IT. - IF SPIKES SKEW THE SCALING OR FOR ANY OTHER REASON, YOU CAN MANUALLY EDIT YOUR DATA IN THE CONNECT IQ APP SETTINGS. YOU CAN ALSO SET THE MAXIMUM ALLOWED POWER IN THE SETTINGS (DEFAULT: 1500W) TO PREVENT SPIKES FROM BEING ANALYZED AND STORED. - Usually I recommend to leave the MMP values untouched after installation and simply let them close in to your actual MMP values over time. SETTINGS: Since V1.0, the data is stored as comma-separated lists of 25 (Edge 520: 20) power values and their dates in the app settings. The data correspond in this order to 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 40 seconds, 1, 1.5, 2, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 40, 60, 80, 100 minutes, 2, 2.5 and 3 hours. The Edge 520 uses 5 values less ending at 60 minutes. Power values should be between 0 and 2000, unit is W. Dates should be of format YYMMDD, unknown dates can be left empty. No spaces allowed in between.
