Counts your waves on a stand up paddle board automatically. Press START, paddle out, forget the watch. I'm Philipp, a Baltic surfer and the dev behind BreakFinder. Get started in 4 steps 1. Install the app. 2. Sync your watch in Garmin Connect until the app is on it. Stuck at "Queued"? Sync again. 3. Create a free account at breakfinder.surf/pair. It shows your 6-digit code. 4. Open the app on your watch, press START and enter the code. Made for SUP surfing On a SUP you're already standing, so there is no pop-up to detect. The app looks for what a SUP catch actually looks like: a few hard, fast paddle strokes, then the paddle goes quiet as the board starts to glide, and your speed jumps. What it records - Wave count, live on the watch - Ride time, top speed and distance for every ride, saved as laps in your activity - Heart rate and calories - Live status on the activity screen: waiting, paddling, catching, riding - Three sensitivity modes: White Water, Green Wave and Performance On the water - The live screen shows one big number, your waves, over water that rises as the session goes on, with the live status above it. Two gauges on the bezel and your last ride sit around it. - After each wave a card shows its time and top speed. - PAUSED, GPS LOST and LOW BATTERY are spelled out on the screen. - AMOLED rounds, fenix and Forerunner screens and the square Venu Sq each get their own layout. Your log Detection runs on the watch, no phone needed in the water. After the next sync the session shows up in the BreakFinder app and on breakfinder.surf, with every ride on the map. Ending a session Press START, then press START again within 3 seconds and pick Save. Good to know The free account is what moves your sessions from the watch into your log. Stop: the first START press now saves, no more double press. Sessions upload only to the paired account. Settings and menu in German, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese and Japanese. Help, menu and live screen fit on square watches (Venu Sq 2). Instinct 2/2X: time, timer and Stop? no longer sit under the sub-screen.
