Description
This data field requires a Vimo Swim tempo trainer. Without one in range, the field shows its connection status and records zeros - it does nothing useful on its own. Learn more at https://vimoswim.com. Garmin watches ignore external cadence sensors inside swim profiles. This field fills that gap: it connects to your Vimo Swim over Bluetooth and records the metronome's tempo into the activity FIT file, second by second, right inside Pool Swim. One button runs both devices: starting the activity timer starts the metronome (Tempo program), stopping it stops the beat. What lands in your activity, chartable in Garmin Connect: - Tempo trace (seconds per beat) and the same beat as strokes per minute - the unit coaches think in - Your actual stroke rate from the watch, and the gap to target (ahead or behind) - Per lap: average tempo and adherence - the share of the lap you actually held within 10% of the target - Per session: whole-activity adherence and total beats followed Underwater, 2.4 GHz radio drops on nearly every stroke - that is physics, not a bug. The Vimo keeps playing regardless; the field carries the last confirmed tempo, marks it with a "~" on screen, and flags it in the data (link = 0) so your trace stays honest and readable. On screen while you swim: live tempo and your +/- gap to the beat. Permissions: Bluetooth Low Energy connects to your Vimo Swim device to read the tempo and start/stop it with the activity timer; FIT recording writes the tempo and adherence fields into your activity file. Nothing leaves the watch: no personal data, no server, nothing stored outside the activity file.
